It's inspiring to see how complementary therapies like Reiki are being integrated into traditional healthcare settings to provide holistic care to patients, particularly during end-of-life care. Reiki can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, pain, and discomfort, as well as provide a sense of peace and comfort to patients and their loved ones.

As an End-of-Life Doula, my role is to provide compassionate support to individuals and families during this difficult time. Integrating Reiki into my practice enhances the quality of care I provide and helps people feel more relaxed, calm, grounded, and supported when facing a life-limiting illness, or during their end-of-life journey.

Reiki is tailored to the person’s needs, which is important during illness and in end-of-life care, since each person’s experience and needs are unique. It’s also important to recognize that Reiki is not a substitute for medical care but may be used in conjunction with medical treatment to enhance the person’s overall well-being.

The intuitive and attentive nature of Reiki practice allows practitioners to tune into the needs of the person receiving the treatment and offer personalized care that can help ease physical pain, promote relaxation, and support emotional and spiritual healing.

Moreover, the gentle nature of Reiki makes it an excellent complementary therapy for those who are experiencing physical discomfort, as it does not require physical manipulation or cause any pain or discomfort during the treatment. It can be a safe and gentle way to offer support and comfort.

Overall, the connection between Reiki and the end-of-life process lies in the therapeutic benefits it offers. Reiki can help people find peace, comfort, and healing, making it an essential component of holistic end-of-life care.
